Probono Consultants for Organic Farming Project in Cameroon
Our Project Partner generates awareness on the dangers of conventional agriculture, training on organic farming as an alternative method and follow ups to ensure proper implementation and sharing information for sustainability. The project is aimed at enhancing food security and farmer’s participation in environmental conservation for sustainable production during our lifetime and for the future generations. At least 25 sustainable agriculture farming groups created (involving women and youths) and trained to operate as a cooperative. Micro grants secured for the farming cooperative to start up a bank account for a rotating fund to finance farming and marketing activities in Oku. Introduction of a value chain in the production system. For the minimum time of 12 weeks, they are looking for Probono Consultants for an Organic Farming Project.

REQUIREMENTS
- Volunteer should have a Mid-Junior Level (5 to 7 years of experience) Environment, Conservation and NRM and Agriculture
- Should have experience working in agricultural and environmental projects.
- Good command in English, as working language is English.
- Volunteer should be highly motivated
- Experience or skills in fundraising for the project

Long Term aim (desired impact):
We expect an increase in agricultural productivity of over 50% through sustainable farming techniques within the next five years in a chain of 100 farming groups in Oku.
Short Term aim (desired output for the individual volunteer coming):
At least 25 sustainable agriculture farming groups created (involving women and youths) and trained to operate as a cooperative. Micro grants secured for the farming cooperative to start up a bank account for a rotating fund to finance farming and marketing activities in Oku. Introduction of a value chain in the production system.
Accommodation on arrival:
We will arrange for a hotel for a night at airport city before travelling to project location. This will cost 50 EUR per night
Project is closed:
The volunteer will benefit from guided eco tours within and without the community. This will also be a time to visit other villages and towns in Cameroon and to improve on cultural exchange.
Social activities (organised by partner):
Guided tours, visits to cultural events etc. Each person will pay 10 EUR per day for the Guide and 50 EUR as fees for the events
Language lessons:
We will provide free language lessons for the volunteers
Guidance:
The volunteer will have free guidance in the course of the project.
Internet:
We do not have internet services in our office but the volunteer can acquire a high speed connection at the cost of 40 euros per month
Other relevant information:
We accept volunteers of mixed sexes and any nationality. We will appreciate a minimum commitment of three months. This assignment is valid until the project is achieved.

Presentation of Volunteer Profile to Project Partner
Your application documents will be presented to the project partner.
Successful Placement
If the project partner decides for you, he documents this on the so-called Confirmation of Assignment (COA).
This is an indication for us that the pure mediation process is completed here and we can start with the preparation.
Preparation
You will be prepared individually according to your previous knowledge.
Project Work
Reporting
At regular intervals, we as well as the project partners expect a short documentation of your project results and progress.
Evaluation
At the end of the project a feedback round takes place and the project work will be evaluated together with all participants.
Qualified Letter of Reference
After successful implementation of the project, you will receive a qualified letter of reference.
