About The Global Pro Bono Network
The Global Pro Bono Network (GPBN) supports civic engagement that brings meaningful and transformative change to communities. Organized by pro bono intermediaries, the Global Pro Bono Network exists to promote knowledge sharing, mutual support and collaboration among pro bono intermediaries from around the world. Through this increased capacity, Member Organizations are better equipped to drive the movement forward, creating greater global change through meaningful local and regional actions. Our Network is a catalyst for impact through the capacity building of civil society organizations.
Network Members range from start-ups to mature organizations working to promote, provide and expand pro bono in their countries and regions. This mixture accelerates the sharing of best practices and lessons learned. Realizing that pro bono engagements brings communities together, the Network fosters intercultural exchange and draws a new map for a model of civic engagement globally.
The Network was created in 2013 with support from the BMW Foundation and Taproot Foundation who convened intermediaries for the first annual Global Pro Bono Summit. This growing Network is currently composed of 42 member organizations from 30 countries and regions. It thrives under the guidance of the Taproot Foundation, BMW Foundation, and an Advisory Council of Network Members.
