Volunteers to monitor and collect important data of Sea Turtles in Costa Rica
Our partner is a non-profit organization committed to ensure the recovery and sustainable management of depleted sea turtle populations in Costa Rica since 1986. The project aims to study the habitat of different turtle species by capturing and studying their movements and feeding habits in water. As Volunteers play an important role in monitoring a 7km stretch of Caribbean beach, they are looking for Volunteers who will work alongside biologists and veterinary students to collect important data.

- Protect and collect information on endangered leatherback turtles.
- twice a week we go out to sea, to set turtle friendly nets, which catch turtles as they come into the gulf to feed.
- Collect biometric data from them, and treat any parasites or illnesses before releasing them.
- Restore the mangroves along the coast in our reforestation program
REQUIREMENTS
- Understanding of scientific practices
- Respect and love for animal nature and its environment
- Enthusiasm and interest in applying and developing practical knowledge in the context of everyday life in Costa Rica.
- Robust health and capable of working under basic conditions.
- Good knowledge of English and a working knowledge of Spanish

Your application documents will be presented to the project partner.
Successful Placement
If the project partner decides for you, he documents this on the so-called Confirmation of Assignment (COA).
This is an indication for us that the pure mediation process is completed here and we can start with the preparation.
Preparation
You will be prepared individually according to your previous knowledge.
Project Work
Reporting
At regular intervals, we as well as the project partners expect a short documentation of your project results and progress.
Evaluation
At the end of the project a feedback round takes place and the project work will be evaluated together with all participants.
Qualified Letter of Reference
After successful implementation of the project, you will receive a qualified letter of reference.
