Our Project Partner was founded in October 2009 with the goal of spearheading community-driven development initiatives to empower needy people in the local villages in the Emuhaya district of Vihiga County Western Kenya. They provide services and assistance through programs such as HIV/AIDS health care & education, capacity-building, organic farming, art and clay works, computer services, ecological tourism & environmental protection, community managed microfinance, entrepreneurship development, street kids, orphans and vulnerable children support. Their Vision is to improve quality livelihood for orphans, street children and a healthy, empowered and self-sustainable community. For the minimum time of eight weeks, we are looking for Volunteers for Youth Empowerment & Mentorship project in Kenya.

Long Term aim (desired impact):
Strengthening career paths for local youths through skills based development at the resource center.
Short Term aim (desired output for the individual volunteer coming):
Establishment of a career centre by 2018 to enhance skills development
Accommodation on arrival: Volunteers are accommodated in a host family in Nairobi for the period of preparation before being placed in the project
Project is closed: This is a year round project where volunteers are able to serve at any given time.
Social activities (organised by partner): Hiking, visiting local families, market days, visiting lake Victoria
Language lessons: Volunteers interested in Swahili language course can register for a ten day course at a cost of Euro 250
Guidance: Volunteers have mentors to assist them settle down
At the project level you will have someone to guide you around and help you in understanding your local sorrounding
Internet: The office has internet, at the host family their will be no internet but you can be able to have internet access using your smart phone
Other relevant information: Minimum placement that is desirable is 2 months. All volunteers are welcomed to participate if interested in joining our education tour experience you can also register with us.
After an extensive consultation and presentation of the first suitable projects, we will conclude a written agreement. In order to have planning security for all stakeholders.
Presentation of Volunteer Profile to Project Partner
If the project partner decides for you, he documents this on the so-called Confirmation of Assignment (COA).
This is an indication for us that the pure mediation process is completed here and we can start with the preparation.
You will be prepared individually according to your previous knowledge.
At regular intervals, we as well as the project partners expect a short documentation of your project results and progress.
At the end of the project a feedback round takes place and the project work will be evaluated together with all participants.
