Volunteers for Hygienic School Project in Tanzania
In Sumbawanga, East Africa, most of the schools lack water infrastructure. This problem puts the pupils under epidemic diseases like cholera. Most of the school toilets have no water for children to wash their hands. Therefore so so called School WASH project was initiated. School WASH stands for School Water and Sanitation Hygiene. This is kind of sanitary activities where the school pupils are taught to maintain hygienic behavior. The vision is that 20 Secondary Schools have necessary knowledge about WASH until the end of the Volunteer service. For the minimum time of 4 weeks, we are looking for Volunteers for School Hygiene Project in Tanzania

REQUIREMENTS
- University degree in Environment, Public relations or Sociology
- Experience in Administration, Officework; Report writing; Training and Organisational Development and/or Environment conservation is preferred,
- Fluent in English and Swahili (desired)
- Positive minded altitude
- Clean Police Background Check (PBC)

Long Term aim (desired impact):
To substantially improve the hygienic situation for people living in the Sumbawanga area and reduce severe illness such as cholera.
Short Term aim (desired output for the individual volunteer coming):
20 Secondary School have necessary knowledge about WASH until the end of the Volunteer service.
Accommodation on arrival:
50 EUR
Project is closed:
Project is closed over Christmas until new Year. This period will just remain as a holiday period
Social activities (organised by partner):
There will be organised a social event which will cost at least EUR 1500. This will be organised in Sumbawanga Municipal and it will involve government officials from relevant department, People from private sector and Schools. This is an optional offer for the volunteer!
Language lessons:
Because this project will involve people who most of them are not conversant with the two languages (English and Swahili), so it will require to familiarise the volunteer with vernacular (Fipa language) which will cost USD 150 per person per course
Guidance:
The working condition in Tanzania and in the project area does not require guidance, However, If the volunteer if new to the area he/she will require someone to familiarize with the locality, so it will require an estimation of 250 EUR for the first four week for that purpose
Internet:
Yes the volunteer will require some amount to buy internet bundles for internet purpose. This will cost him/her 1.5 USD per day which is equal to 7.5 USD per week.

Your application documents will be presented to the project partner.
Successful Placement
If the project partner decides for you, he documents this on the so-called Confirmation of Assignment (COA).
This is an indication for us that the pure mediation process is completed here and we can start with the preparation.
Preparation
You will be prepared individually according to your previous knowledge.
Project Work
Reporting
At regular intervals, we as well as the project partners expect a short documentation of your project results and progress.
Evaluation
At the end of the project a feedback round takes place and the project work will be evaluated together with all participants.
Qualified Letter of Reference
After successful implementation of the project, you will receive a qualified letter of reference.
